How stress Affects Your Fertility?
Human bodies are designed in a way that a woman cannot conceive when she is under stress. Our bodies produce a hormone called Adrenaline , when our body is stressed and under stress it’s not the right time to conceive. When adrenaline is produced the body is unable to use the hormone progesterone required for fertility. Also when body is under stress, pituitary gland produces prolactin which is the reason for infertility.
How Stress Impacts Fertility
When our body is subjected to high levels of stress, stress hormones are released which increases the production of stress hormones like Adrenaline, Catecholamines and Cortisol, which stops the body to release the main hormone Gonadotropin Hormone which releases the sex hormones, which stops the ovulation and also lowers the sperm count in men.
A general example of the importance of GnRH in fertility is this: Manufactured by the hypothalamus,The Gonadotropin hormone is responsible to release the LH (Luteinizing Hormone and the FSH (Follicle stimulating hormone) which stimulates the sex hormones in men and women to release sex hormones namely the estrogen and androgens.
Any imbalance of the Gonadotropins leads to the insufficient production of pituitary gland hormones. Chronic stress leads to low libido and it’s called Stress induced reproductive dysfunction.
When women are stressed, conceiving might not be the right time. Its important when undergoing a treatment such as IVF every couple must manage to keep their stress at bay.
