A Fingerprint Foretells the Success or Failure Chances of IVF Treatment

Wednesday 24 August 2016

Researchers recently discovered the unusual gene expression that present in the women womb lining which fails the development of healthy embryos.
Expectation: Doctors soon predict the better chances of IVF outcome.

The researchers have exposed that IVF failure chances can be aptly determined with the genetic fingerprints in the womb. Definitely this has broken the grounds of fear of IVF Treatment on global land. Professor Nick Macklon, the Southampton Complete Fertility Medical Director said that detection of the wombs genetic abnormality aids in analyzing the successful or failure cases of women by the clinicians. He briefly stated that these kinds of new test developments enables the patients to better understand on achieving the pregnancy before committing to go through the IVF treatment process. Also this discovery on womb able to guide the other interested people to stop or continue further despite encountering few unsuccessful cycles.
The current statistics of IVF success rate are nearly 35% that gives green signal to the pregnancy. This new development has the capability to revolutionize the fertility treatment success rate.
Tests: Researchers are attempting hardly to find out the reasons for IVFs Failure

According to the recent official records more than 50K women undergo the In Vitro Fertilization Treatment in each year. Professor Macklon confessed that many women with quality embryos during the IVF processing are also facing the failures. Up to now the scientists are unware that womb lining affecting the IVF success. The researcher team has studied on the womb lining by examining the biopsies (tissue removed from the human body) of 43 women who faced repetitive implantation failure as well as 72 women with successful birth delivery after undergoing the fertility treatment. Professor Macklon also stated that their team found some abnormal- genre expression which always connected to the IVF failure rate. The respective genre expression cannot be seen in the successful pregnancies as per the statements made by the professor. The respective professor told that “this analysis is found to be very prominent in understanding the failure cases of IVF treatment” to Journal of Scientific Reports.
Improvement: This breakthrough able to assist the doctors to provide requisite guidance to the patients.

Professor Frank Holstege, the head of genomic laboratory (University- Medical Center, Utrecht) who contributed the efforts on this study on womb lining, said that uterus receptivity complications are the major causes of the IVF treatment failure and due to this large proportion of the women are suffering with implantation problems. The chances of successful pregnancy achievement are very less for these less uterus receptive women.

The output of the research is to provide the proper guidance to the patients by the clinicians during the counselling phase. Hence they can invest for the right treatment without wasting the time and efforts while the treatment is processing.

Apart from this, this research assures the patients who undergone several unsuccessful IVF cycles with the fact that their genetic pattern is not causing to obstruct the pregnancy. So it is ensuring that these kinds of patients still have the better chances to carry the successful pregnancy.
Finally the Professor Macklon added that the research on womb lining related to success or failure IVF seems to be very significant in the field of international fertility sector, in the next stages studies are targeted to bring out the effectiveness of it on wide proportions. Let’s hope for the best things to happen in near future to get high successful rate of IVF treatment with the genetic fingerprint analysis on the womb lining.
